FAQ What does your username mean? GiR is a character from Invader Zim, a cartoon my friend Donna got me to watch. She insisted I watched it and eventually I gave in. Gir is a robot which has gone mad and is very funny to watch. I joined YouTube in 2006, but GiR2006 was taken, so I went with 2007. I never thought that my videos would be popular in any way, so I have ended up with this random username. I would like to pick another one please :) Where do you get your ideas from? They just arrive in my head randomly. I suddenly get an idea and then my mind gets all excited and I start to plan it out. Sometimes I do go through periods where there are no ideas, but if I go travelling somewhere or spend some time with friends, the ideas come more freely. What music software do you use? I used to use Reason but have recently changed to Logic Pro, because it handles audio files much better. How do you make that voice in your videos? It is an effect in Reason called a Vocoder, and it can tune your voice to any pitch. It sounds rather cool, and I use it mostly because I can't sing. What video editor do you use? Final Cut Pro. I used to use Sony Vegas, but recently I have switched to Final Cut. I miss some aspects of Sony Vegas still, but I'm very happy with the results i get from Final Cut. What computers do you have? I use a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro. Both have 4GB ram and are loaded with Final Cut Studio, Logic Studio and Reason amongst other things. What camera do you use? Panasonic DVX 100b and a Canon EOS 350D (Rebel XT if you live in America). I use the DVX for live action and the 350D gets used for all the stop motion I do. How long did it take you to do Pancakes II? About 2 weeks of 9 hours a day working on it. How did you make the milk fly in Pancakes II? The force is strong with me. Why do you have two keyboards, a long one and a short one? The long one is for long songs and the short one is for short songs.
